Veneto Strade manages an extensive regional road network. To support its maintenance planning, the agency has launched a project with RoadAnalyzer to validate how effectively the system performs on its own network.
Project goal
Carry out a structured assessment of the reliability of AI-based detections in real-world conditions, with results reviewed and validated directly by Veneto Strade's technicians.
Approach
- Selection of sample routes representative of the different network scenarios
- Collection of geo-referenced videos during regular service vehicle trips
- Automated analysis of the footage through RoadAnalyzer
- Validation of the outputs by the agency's technicians to confirm their operational value
Next steps
The findings of this validation phase will inform a six-month inspection schedule across the network, focused on three dimensions:
- condition of the road pavement;
- state of the vertical signage;
- management of roadside vegetation.
The goal is to build a consistent, comparable dataset over time to support planned maintenance decisions.
